Mircodosing Mushrooms

Microdosing is defined as the practice of consuming very low to medium doses of a psychedelic substances, such as mushrooms or THC Edibles. Research shows that mircodosing is increasing in popularity. However, the purpose of microdosing is not meant to get you high and commonly people who mircodose don’t believe that it should be a daily activity. Research recommends that one should partake in the practice of mircodosing 3 -5 times a week using products such as Tiger Vision Mushroom Microdosing.  Dr. James Fadiman, psychologist and experimenter of psychedelics, and author of  “The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide: Safe, Therapeutic, and Sacred Journeys,” recommends a three-day cycle. In order to not build up a tolerance to the drug, a first  dose should be taken on day one, and then not again until day four.” He also recommends that will praticing in mircodosing you should take notes of doses and types used in order to aid in understanding how your body reacts therefore increasing the chance of a positive outcome.

Psilocybin (also known as shrooms or magic mushrooms) and LSD are currently the most popular forms of pysodelic drugs people use while practicing microdosing. Cannabis, ayahuasca, mescaline, and DMT are all possible other substances used for microdosing. Because of this, not all research and conversations surrounding mircodosing are about the same drug and therefore, we must be cautious when putting these conversations and research into use. However, many people that have experienced the high associated with mircodosing have stated that it increases their creativity, while others have mentioned that they see an improvement in their mood and positive outlook on life.

Steve Jobs, cofounder and previous CEO of Apple Inc., some about his LSD experiences. “Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the most important things in my life. LSD shows you that there’s another side to the coin, and you can’t remember it wh  en it wears off, but you know it. It reinforced my sense of what was important—creating great things instead of making money, putting things back into the stream of history and of human consciousness as much as I could.” Jobs claimed the his use of LSD aided in the design concept of his Zen-inspired, simplistic Apple product and packaging.

According to Jobs friend and founding Apple employee, Daniel Kottke, Jobs stopped his use of LSD once Apple was launched. However, it has been noted is now used by many Silicon Valley creators. LSD use and micro dosing use has been proven to aid in help with exhaustion of a hectic schedule and to boost the creative mind.

Tips and Benefits:

Studies has suggested the repeated use of substances such as psilocybin can aid with improving ones mood and mental health. This research has shown that people that micro dosed in small amounts showed signs of improved depression, anxiety and stress over a 30 day period. This study was published in the Nature-Scientific ReportsTrusted Source, and it included over 900 people participated in mircodosing versus the control group 180 who did not take any psychedelic substances.

“This is the largest longitudinal study of this kind to date of microdosing psilocybin and one of the few studies to engage a control group,” study author Zach Walsh, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, said in a press release.

The dosage of a substance like psilocybin or LSD should only be approximately one-twentieth to one-tenth the regular dose designed to “trip,” according to popular research. That’s 5 to 10 micrograms of LSD or 0.1 to 0.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. Because individual tolerances differ, the exact amount can differ person-to-person, but the concept is to be in an increased state of perception, rather than a hallucinating state.

Psilocybin mushrooms or LSD are the most common used substances for microdosing.

Microdosing is the consumption of a psychedelic substances in small to medium amounts used 3 to 5 times per week. The smaller dosage is used to help ensure the effects of the substance does not impair daily activity and functioning.

Dustin Hines, PhD, an assistant professor of neuroscience in the department of psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas states that “In establishing a microdose, people are looking to have normal cognitive functioning — they can still carry out their work duties or other responsibilities without noticing a negative impact,” He also states that finding the correct dose varies from person to person which is why it is recommended to start small to gage the effects on you.

A 2019 study found that people who microdosed psychedelics not only had a reduction in symptoms of depression and stress, but they also showed lower levels of distractibility. However, this study did not include non-microdosing control group.

Research has also been done on the effects of micro dosing and psychomotor improvements. In a recent study, researchers used a smartphone finger-tapping test that has been used to assess psychomotor symptoms of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Participants were 55 years or older.

Researchers also assessed whether combining psilocybin with a non-psychedelic substance, a process known as “stacking,” changed the outcomes. Combining psilocybin with substances such as lion’s mane (a non-psychedelic mushroom) and niacin (a B vitamin) did not affect the changes in mood or mental health. These are positive results however they are strictly observational.

Considering that many to these studies are purely observational in nature, researchers are unable to fully take factors such as age, gender, mental health prior to the study, and other types of treatment. Also, the effects of psilocybin or LSD varies from person to person which will also affect the outcome of the study.

“One thing that varies hugely in these studies is who people are going in. Some people are resilient to depression but have lots of problems with anxiety, and vice versa,” said Hines. “So a microdose may affect somebody with high levels of anxiety very differently than somebody with high levels of depression.”

Results of these studies may also vary greatly based on persons expected outcome. Reserachers are unable to control these expected outcomes, and if the person taking part in the study knows they are taking the psilocybin the risk they expect a positive outcome may be greater. This problem can be found with many different types of research and not just when researching psychedelic use.  It can be difficult to gide from the participant which group they are in, either the control group or those that are receiving the drug. Man buy magic mushrooms online using mail order websites such as Green Horizon.

Regardless, the field of psychedelic research is continuing the to advance, and as such, we are constantly gaining increasing insight into the use of microdosing and its many and carried benefits.
